For The Groups
Camp Eagle's Wilderness Program has been serving youth groups, college groups, and groups of individuals for over ten years now. We have also partnered with several other youth camps in the Texas area by offering a customizable wilderness/high ropes experience for their campers that is led by our trained guides who co-lead along with their counselors.

Example Pecos River Trip

Pecos River Trip Example
- 20, 40 and 60 mile options
The Pecos River will challenge and unify any group by instilling a sense of accomplishment and shared experience that is unique only to conquering this type of a trip.
During the 60 mile trip the group spends five days paddling and camping on the beautiful Pecos River in the Texas’ Chihuahuan Desert. They will run class I-III rapids and meander between building-sized boulders as they travel through the wilderness oasis. Experience the grand cathedral-like walls of the river canyon and cool clean water.
Groups begin their journey at Camp Eagle's wilderness base camp and we drive the group out to the river and back for either the 60, 40, or 20 mile portions of the river.

Example 4 Day Trip

4 Day Trip Example
A four day wilderness trip at Camp Eagle is the perfect amount of time out on trail for groups who are new to backpacking and want to experience an equal amount of fun and challenge! Your first and last nights will be spent at our Wilderness Base Camp giving you access to civilization and gently introduces you into the wild. When we head out into our back country, there are several amazing campsites and activity options that can cater to any groups needs. In the summer we keep our groups on their toes with intentional experiences, paired with biblical truth, while always throwing in relaxing cool down times like swimming in our river, or even a secret visit by our fire truck for a surprise trail shower! After a good helping of God's glorious, dirty, iceless, wilderness the group comes back to base camp for showers, mirrors and a delicious celebration dinner and a chance to debrief how the group handled being pushed out of their “comfort zone” spiritually and physically.

Example Base Camp Trip

Base Camp Trip Example
"Base Camp trips are a strategic way to bring groups of students to Camp Eagle for a shorter and cheaper stay. The net result is a rustic hybrid of Wilderness Groups and Church Camp. This track has the adventure and fun of Camp Eagle without the commitment to a full week or sacrificing a mattress each night.
Base Camp trips are great for weekends or up to 4-night stays. Groups experience all the awesome Wilderness activities but without all the camping. With most meals at Mi Casa, bathrooms, showers, and a bed to sleep in, this is a great option for groups who want a taste of the Wilderness experience. It is also a great way to have an abbreviated summer camp or retreat in a more secluded environment. Trips are customized for each group and all the Wilderness activities are available.

Customize Your Trip

Customize Your Trip
Camp Eagle takes time to learn about each group and adventures are tailored to suit your needs. To accomplish this, two needs assessment forms help gather the group's goals. Both leaders and individuals fill out an assessment.

Step 1: Leader Assessment
After initial conversations, a group needs assessment will need to be completed. This is the main form that helps determine your groups personality and goals.

Step 2: Participant Assessment
Campers will fill out an individual needs assessment and submit it online. This gives additional information about each participant, allowing the Wilderness staff to better serve individuals and the group as a whole.

Step 3: Plan the Adventure
As the trip date approaches the expressed needs from the leader and participants are evaluated and a specific plan is formulated to meet those needs.

Step 4: Approve the Plan
Finally, the group leader and the Wilderness Director adjust and approve the final trip plan. To get started contact the Wilderness Director.
